More lists, more tags, more views, more features. The category competes on capability, and the result is a backlog that generates guilt instead of output.
jottt takes the opposite position. Three slots, every day, and no way to add a fourth.
A hard limit only works if the product never quietly undermines it. There are no categories, no backlog, no archive of things you will never get to, and no way to hoard tasks for later.
That removes the feature requests most task apps eventually accept, and it is exactly what keeps the product usable.
Set priorities in the morning, check them off through the day with haptic feedback, plan tomorrow before sleep. Completing all three closes the day out.
The loop is short enough to hold and repeat, which is what turns an app into a habit rather than a tool you open twice.
Streaks and history are the only progress mechanic. There is no score, no productivity rating, no analytics dashboard telling you how you performed.
The measure is simply whether you did the thing again today, because that is the only measure that compounds.
